On the right the old Christopher Gibson School can be seen on School Street which was named for it. It was designed by J. Gridley Fox Bryant and built at the same time as the William Stoughton School on River Street (1856 I believe). The architect of the Holmes School (Junior High in my day) was the nephew of the poet and the architect of the stations along the old "El" such as Dudley Street, Northampton, Dover Street Stations, etc.
