Chokoladenmadchen or La Belle Chocolatiere, originally a pastel of Anna Baltauf (1740-1825) by Swiss artist Jean Etienne Liotard. She was the daughter of a knight and later wife of Prince Dietrichstein. In the mid 18th century, chocolate shops were popular, and Anna was a chocolate server in one of the shops. In 1881 Henry Pierce, the principal of the Walter Baker Company, saw the painting in Dresden, and the Walter Baker Chocolate Company obtained the right to use the image as a company trademark, one of the oldest trademarks in the United States.
