I was raised in Mattapan from 1922-1942. My family lived on no. 14 Rector Road. As a yougster us boys spent many wonderfull summer days playing around the Neponset River. As a high school student I sold newspapers and delivered the Daily Record at the square and the Rapid Transit Terminal. I also worked at the Pioner Food Store in the center of town Which was owned by a Greek family. They also operated a restaurant on the corner of Blue Hill Ave. and Cummings Hwy. A memorial plaque near the bridge has the name of Thomas Hanley who was killed in WW11. A very dear freind of mine. Those wondrful pictures bring back so many memories. Thanks
