No. 14: Pierce House
Postcard #14

Photograph of the Pierce House. "Now standing on Oak Avenue was built 1640, and is still in possession of the family." Published in Official Program, Dorchester Day, Saturday, June 7th, 1913.

Comments
The name of the street is now Oakton Avenue, and we now know through dendrochronology that the house was built in 1683. The modern photo below was taken prior to the removal of the asbestos siding. The Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities (SPNEA) has removed the siding and restored the 1930s clapboard exterior.
Modern image: Digital Photograph. Pierce House Feb. 2002.
