Notes from the Boston Landmarks Commission survey from 1978

Construction date estimated as 1840. The house appears on the Eaton map of 1850. It is one and ? stories with cross gables. It is a Gothic cottage with sawn work ? drop pendant barge boards. The house has a deep setback, and there is a Mansard barn with slate roof behind. It is one of the most intact Gothic cottages in Dorchester, perhaps the most interesting sawn barge board.

Notes from spring 2007

The current owner of the property has applied for a permit to demolish the building. When the permit came to the Boston Landmarks Commission, a hearing was scheduled to consider a demolition delay. The delay was approved and extends until early June in the hopes that alternatives to demolition may be considered At this time it seems likely the house will be lost to history in the summer of 2007.
