Arcadia Publishing, 1995, p. 85 The Christopher Gibson School was built on School Street and named for an early settlerof Dorchester who had left a bequest to the town to benefit the schools. Designed by Boston architect Gridley J. Fox Bryant, this Italianate school was in marked contrast to the one-rroom schoolhouse of a generation earlier.
