Click image for more information Dedicated September 11, 1921, this monument consisted of a large round plaque on the stone that is surrounded by an iron fence near Malibu Beach. In 1918 Captain McConnell was killed in action in France in World War I.
The large round plaque that was installed at the dedication has disappeared. A poor copy of a photo of the plaque appears in a Boston Globe article from 1921. If anyone has a better photo, please get in touch.
