Charles Edwin Holt was born in 1852 in South Boston to Daniel Holt, a native of Georgetown in Essex County, and Zelinda Pearson Holt, a native of Newburyport in Essex County. He sold Provisions at 714 Columbia Road in Dorchester and retired as a Grocer in 1916. Mr. Holt resided at 17 Annabel Street in the Upham's Corner neighborhood of Dorchester, was the husband of Emma B. C. Maloney Holt, and died on June 29, 1935, at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 4 days at the Wellington Hospital Home in Quincy from Myocarditis, Angina Pectoris, Hypertension and Chronic Nephritis. J. B. Cole and Son were the undertakers, and he was interred on July 2, 1935.
