A J. Bennett

Fashionable custom tailor to men, 347 Washington Street, Dorchester.

For a period of 12 years, A. J. (Jacob) Bennett, the custom tailor, of No. 347 Washington Street, corner of Harvard Street, Dorchester, has been making fashionable clothing for the male population of this district.  Mr. Bennett opened his well-known establishment in 1895, on a building at No. 313 Washington Street, and removed to his present more desirable premises later on.  His store is spacious and well appointed, and he has a workroom at the rear.  The salesroom contains a superior selection of the newest designs and patterns in imported and domestic fabrics for the choice of his patrons.  Mr. Bennett keeps fully abreast of the times in the matt of popular apparel and can be depended upon to have in his stock the latest novelties in material.  He employs a staff of skilled workmen, and the garments fashioned in his establishment are put together in the most workmanlike way, while in cut and fit, they cannot be surpassed in the great tailoring houses of the largest cities in the land.  Mr. Bennett guarantees to his patrons the perfection of style and fit and never permits a garment to leave the store unless it is absolutely faultless in every detail.  Nearly all of the carefully attired men in Dorchester patronize the Bennett store, for the reputation of the establishment is widespread.

Mr. Bennett was born n the Russian Empire.  He came to Boston many years ago and has resided in this city since then.  He is a practical tailor and cutter and attends to all orders taken at his store personally.  In addition to making clothing, Mr. Bennett cleans, repairs and presses garments.  He belongs to several societies and is respected and esteemed by all.
