Reliable and Popular Pharmacist, Fields’ Corner, Dorchester

There is no druggist in this entire district who is more widely or popularly known than is R (Robert) H. Billings, the Field’s Corner apothecary.  His store was established over fifty years ago and has long been reckoned as one f the landmarks of the locality.  It has been under the management of Mr. Billings for eighteen years, making this one of the oldest, if not the oldest, drug stores in Dorchester, and is liberally patronized by young and old in the neighborhood.  Indeed, any of its customers cone from a considerable distance for the privilege of trading there, believing the establishment to be possessed of advantages not to be found elsewhere.  The store is commodious and attractive in appearanc3, all of its appointments being thoroughly modern and up to date and is stocked with an assortment of goods which is superior, both in general character and variety.  His stock consists of the purest and freshest drugs, fine chemicals, proprietary remedies, sick room and hospital supplies, physicians’ and surgeons’ supplies, imported and domestic perfumes, toilet articles, confectionery, stationery, druggists’ novelties, cigars and cigarettes, of foreign and American manufacture, liniments, tonics, plasters, etc. in well nigh unending variety.  Mr. Billings makes a notable specialty of the scientific compounding of the prescriptions of physicians, making use of the purest and freshest ingredients in these all-important mixtures for the ailing.  His reputation among medical men in this respect is exceptionally high.

Mr. Billings has been a resident of Dorchester for eighteen years and is well known to nearly all of the people there, among whom he is highly respected and esteemed, both as a business man of h9onor and a private citizen above reproach.
