Daisy Market
A popular store for the sale of groceries, Adams and Parkman Streets, Dorchester
The Daisy market, as it is popularly known throughout the Dorchester district, is located at Adams and Parkman streets, and P. (Peter) Figenbaum is the affable proprietor. The store does a large grocery and provision business and is one of the leading establishments of its kind in Dorchester. The stock of staple and fancy groceries, fresh, salt and smoked meats, fish, fruits and vegetables which are on sale there are superior in quality to any in the neighborhood and are sold at city prices. Orders are called for and delivered every morning and all orders given over the telephone are promptly and accurately attended to. Three delivery wagons are made use of, and one two-horse wagon makes daily trips through Hough’s Neck for the convenience of the store’s customers residing there.
Mr. Figenbaum established his business in 1896, and in the 11 years intervening since that date has become one of the best known of the Dorchester merchants. He is accounted a businessman of the strictest integrity and is highly–regarded socially, at the same time being recognized as a public-spirited and patriotic citizen. He is a popular member of the Quincy Yacht club and is much interested in yachting affairs. Je was horn and brought up in Norway and is now a man in middle life.
