Mrs. M. F. Healey

Dealer in ice cream and confectionery, 171 Washington Street

Mrs. M. F. Healey opened her popular ice cream parlor and lunch room at No. 171 Washington street, Mt. Bowdon’, Dorchester, in 1906 and thus met a demand which had long existed in the locality for such a place of resort. Her store is neat and clean and is otherwise attractive, the eating tables being placed in the rear part of the store. Mrs. Healey carries a complete selection of confectionery, including Lowney’s celebrated chocolates, tonics, cigars, cigarettes, tobaccos, soda water, etc.  Regular meals, light lunches and dishes cooked to order are served in the restaurant.  Mrs. Healey’s ice cream is noted for its purity and general excellence and is much sought after in the summer season. She supplies parties, receptions, weddings and other social functions at all seasons of the year. Her soda water fountain works overtime in the hot weather, the beverages coming from its shining faucets being most refreshing and healthful.

Mrs. Healey is a native of St. John’s, Newfoundland.
