Proprietors of high class hotel and café 432-484 Geneva Avenue, Dorchester

One of the largest and most impor­tant firms of caterers and hotel proprie­tors in Dorchester is that of the well known Lind Brothers, owners of a catering establishment and cafe. at No. 233 Bowdoin Street and of the Waldeck House, at Nos. 482-484 Geneva avenue, foot of Tonawanda and Waldeck streets.  The firm is composed of H. A.  Lind and Joseph M. Lind and was organized at the corner of Olney and Bowdoin Street three years ago, when the establishment was at No. 233 Bowdoin Street was opened. The Waldeck House and cafe, connected with it, were opened in the spring of this year in Geneva Avenue. The cafe is situated on the ground floor and has a lunch counter anti tables covered with spotless linen and glistening with shining glassware’ and silver, making the whole interior most inviting. On the upper floor are sleeping rooms for guests. There is also a private dining room on the ground floor.  The store and café at the Bowdon street establishment are models of their kind, being fitted in hardwood. In the cafe are a lunch counter and separate tables and also a large stock of cooked meats. This establishment has a large seating capacity, and many guests can be accommodated there at the same time. The store is the headquarters for the catering busi­ness of the firm, which makes a notable specialty of providing eatables fur balls, parties, receptions, weddings and other social functions. The firm manu­factures ice cream, frozen pudding. etc.

Both members of the firm were born in Roxbury and both are still young men. They are assisted by their mother, Mrs. H. J. Lind.
