The Mattapan Garage
Charles E. Edgerly, Mattapan Square, 1586 Blue Hill Avenue
This garage and auto station is one of the most conveniently located in Mattapan, which is well supplied with automobile accommodations and is also well equipped for any service needed in this business, especially anything in the way of repairs and supplies, of which this garage is particularly adapted. A specialty is made of tire repairing and vulcanizing, and applying tires or furnishing them on new vehicles, the firm always considers its own reputation as well as the mere completion of the work needed. The agency for the well-known Michelin tires is held by the house, but any and all kinds of tires are supplied as may be desired. They also make a specialty of repairs on the Stevens-Duryea cars.
The station occupies an area of about 60 by 20 feet, with a repair shop in the rear, and employs two expert auto men. It was established in December 1896.
