Proprietor of a Grocery Store at 118-120 Savin Hill Avenue, Dorchester

H [Horace] F. Thompson’s grocery store has stood for the last fifteen years at Nos. 118-120 Savin Hill Avenue, Dorchester, and is looked upon as one of the permanent fixtures of the locality. It was established by Mr. Thompson in 1892 and has done a prosperous business since its opening day. the store is 38 by 50 feet in dimensions, thus affording ample space for the attractive disposal of the large stock of food products carried there.  The place is neatly fitted up and well arranged.  The stock, which is large and varied in its character, is composed of staple and fancy groceries, teas, coffees, spices, butter, cheese, eggs, canned goods, table delicacies, flour, cereals, sugar, salt, crackers and any number of good things for the table.  Special mention might be made of “Red Shield” and “Blue Ribbon” coffees.  Fruits and vegetables are also to be had there in their seasons.  Mr. Thompson sells the famous “Onward” brand of flour and commends it to his customers for family use.  Every article in the stock Mr. Thompson keeps on sale is of the highest quality obtainable and is guaranteed to be just as represented.  The prices which rule in this establishment are reasonable and satisfactory, while the goods and service are the best.

Mr. Thompson was born in Attleboro, this state, and has made his home in Dorchester for the last nineteen years.  He is looked upon as a public spirited and patriotic citizen, and is exceedingly popular both as a business man and as a private member of the community.
