Toomey & Ormon

Dealers in Groceries at 48 Crescent Avenue and 1000 Dorchester Avenue.

Two large stores in which choice groceries and provisions are dispensed, are owned and operated by the firm of Toomey & Ormon, one being at No. 48 Crescent Avenue and. the other at No. 1000 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester.  The firm is composed of R. (Robert) C. Toomey and George G. Ormon, and was organized in 1902, when the Crescent Avenue store was established.  The branch store was opened in 1906.  The latter establishment will be removed to a new building at Dorchester Avenue and Cameron Street this fall, but the Crescent Street store will still remain, as before.  Both places are large and neatly arranged and in each is carried a superior select ion of goods. The stocks consist of staple and fancy groceries, teas, coffees, spices, table delicacies, canned goods, flour, jar goods, butter, cheese, eggs, fresh, salt. pickled and smoked meats,  poultry and game, fruits, vegetables and all kinds of farm and dairy products, etc.,  in unending variety. Only the highest quality of goods is sold by this firm, and they are guaranteed to be just as they at represented in every respect. Yet, despite the high quality of all of the articles sold, the prices charged are moderate and satisfactory to the most critical patrons. The firm makes a specialty of “Pillsbury’s Best,” “Gold Medal,” “Regent,” “King Arthur” and other brands of flour and of the “Hatchet” brand of (tinned goods.

Both members of the firm have long been residents of Dorchester and are popular in both business and social circles. They enjoy a large patronage.
