Date of construction: probably 1886-1887.  Henry C. Short was living on Carruth Street by 1888.

Architect: need to find building permit

The house at 8 Carruth Street was built for Henry C. Short and his family.  Short was the Secretary of the Fireman’s Fire Insurance Company.

The Denison family acquired the property in 1902.  Adna T. Denison was in the paper industry.  His father, Adna C. Denison, was a well-known paper manufacturer in Mechanics Falls, Maine.
