No. 1343 87 Alban Street, realphoto Postcard, circa 1910.
Date of construction: by 1894
Based on the the Boston Directory for 1895, which has an entry for William Schumacher on Alban Street.
The following is from Ashmont by Douglass Shand-Tucci, p. 92
In between 91 and 77, the Knowles House, 87 Alban, which takes its name from Winfred Knowles, president of the Globe Rubber Works, was designed and built ca. 1897, and the front gable of this pleasing domicile boasts a striking example of how Queen Anne designers played freely but intelligently with traditional, classic motifs: the central arched window has been omitted and instead of the expected sash there is a diamond-patterned shingled panel. (On this street particularly, notice gables; it is where the architect of the picturesque allowed his fancy most play.)
