Albert Kent
Operates one of the most popular food supply houses on Dudley Street—economy to trade there—located at 749 Dudley Street
The establishment of Albert Kent, at No. 749 Dudley Street. Dorchester, is considered one of the leading and most reliable grocery stores in the neighborhood, and is largely patronized by the most discriminating families in the locality. Mr. Kent opened his store four years ago and had done a flourishng business since then. His store is neat, roomy and attractive in appearance and is a decidedly comfortable place to trade in, as the residents of the streets nearby ran testify. His stock of goods is large and well chosen, consisting of staple and fancy groceries, teas, coffee, spices, butter, eggs, cheese, canned goods, table delicacies, flour, sugar, salt, molasses, vinegar, pickles, fresh meats, fruits, vegetables, poultry, etc., in a variety which is almost unending. The store gives employment to from five to seven people, and two delivery wagons are utilized in the outside service. The patronage or the establishment is drawn mostly from the families in the immediate vicinity, although some of the customers come from a considerable distance for the privilege of trading there. The goods are right and the prices are right in the Kent store, and patrons and proprietor are happy.
Mr. Kent has lived in Dorchester for a number of years. Hi is a popular merchant, having the highest standing as a businessman of unimpeachable honesty and integrity and as a private citizen without reproach. Prior to embarking in business here, he was for a period of years, in charge of one of the leading grocery houses in the center of Boston, so that the 15 or 20 years experience he has had, together with his up-to-date methods of doing business, are of considerable value to himself and his many customers.
