Chrles H. Taylor (1846-1921), manager and editor of the Boston Globe, was born in Boston. He attended the Boston Public Schools and began his career as a printer and reporter for the Boston Traveler. Taylor was a private secretary to the governor (1869-71) and member of the Mass. House of Representatives (1872-73). He became editor and manager of the Globe in 1873.
