Located about where the Carney Hospital is now, the Convalescent Home was a branch of the Boston City Hospital. The Convalescent Home received women, girls, and young boys for recovery from acute diseases.

This property appears to be the extensive Asaph Churchill estate, as depicted in the 1874 Hopkins atlas.
