The well-known and important hard­ware. stove and plumbing business of the D. (David) L. Billings

Company at No. 762 Dudley Street, Upham’s Corner, Dorchester, was established by D. L. Billings in 1890.  The concern was incorporated under its present name in 1904, under the laws of Maine.  Louise E. Billings is the president, and Walter II. Billings is the treasurer of the company. The company occupies the ground floor and basement of the building, 50 by 100 feet in dimensions.  The store carries a very large and complete stock of hardware, stoves, ranges, k9itchen utensils, paints, oils, varnishes, glass, etc.  In the basement is the shop, and there a portion of the stock is kept.  The company acts as New England agent for the celebrated “Sunshine” ranges and heaters, manufactured by the Reading Stove Works.  The establishment gives employment to more than fifteen people, The company also does plumbing work of every kind, keeping on hand a large stock of plumbers supplies. It also does light sheet metal work. Its patronage comes from all parts of Dorchester and its vicinity.  The concern is the leading one of its kind in the whole district, and its services are much in demand when large and important work in its line is bto be done.  Its employees are highly skilled mechanics and are thoroughly able to execute any contract in the plumbing line, no matter how difficult and complex it may be.

The Messrs. Billings, officers of the company, are brothers and are natives of the state of Maine.  Both are members of the Masonic order, and both are young men.  They are known as progressive, energetic and strictly honorable I all of their business dealings and have a high standing among their associates in the mercantile world.
