Daniel J. Gallagher was born in Dorchester on August 31, 1873, and died on March 1953. Gallagher was an American attorney and political figure who served as a delegate to the Massachusetts Constitutional Convention of 1917-1918, the United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts from 1920 to 1921, and a delegate to 1932 Democratic National Convention from Massachusetts.
His son, Owen A. Gallagher, was a member of the Massachusetts General Court.
His obituary in The Boston Globe, March 24, 1953, states that he was a native of Watertown. H graduated from Boston College in 1892. He received his law degree from Boston University 1895. He lived in Dorchester for about 44 years.
