The Boston Directory for 1870 has an entry for George A. Hanes of Geo. Haynes & Son), 52 Washington, house do. ward 16 [house at same address in ward 16, i.e., Dorchester].  The Directory has an entry for George Haynes & Son, stoves and tinware, 52 Wash., h. do. ward 16.

The 1874 Hopkins atlas shows that George Haynes owned the three buildngs with property behind them at what is now 1120, 1126 and 1132 Washington Street, Lower Mills.
