The Dorchester Beacon, October 26, 1907
Grove Hall Storage Warehouse Company
Charles A. Harrington, proprietor, 468 Blue Hill Avenue
This large three-story brick building, located on Geneva avenue, the dividing line between Dorchester and Roxbury, is as completely fireproof as any known means can make it. There are three floors of the area of 84 by 50 feet. and a number of lofts, and a portion of the lower floors is divided into two, by adding partitions horizontally. The total number of rooms is 106, and a space of 15,000 square feet is occupied, all well-filled with furniture, pianos, carriages, etc., the latter being mostly stored in the basement, which is almost entirely filled with them. The warehouse is a most useful Dorchester and Roxbury institution and has filled a place which was vacant in the life of this section before its establishment, as the ample patronage accorded it demonstrates.
Mr. Harrington was born in Milbury, near Worcester, Mass., but has lived in Boston and its suburbs nearly all his life. He is an active business man in the prime of life.
In connection with the storage warehouse an insurance agency is maintained for the benefit of patrons.
