Herbert S. Frost
A prominent real estate dealer and insurance man, 668 Dudley Street, Roxbury
Herbert S. Frost, the well-known dealer in real estate, established his offices in the Roxbury District, at No. 668 Dudley Street, in 1897, and has been recognized as one of the leaders in this business since that time. As a dealer in real property, Mr. Frost is most widely known, for he has been connected and closely identified with some of the most important transactions of that character which have taken place in the neighborhood in the last ten years. He conducts a general real estate business, buying, selling, renting and exchanging buildings and lands for others, on commission, collecting rents and managing estates of deceased or absent owners. An idea of the magnitude of his rent collecting department may be gained from the knowledge of the fact that his monthly collections from more than 500 tenants in the houses and apartments a business establishments of which he has charge amount to the enormous total of $45,000, a sum probably equaled by few others in that line of business. Mr. Frost is also widely known as the negotiator of first and second real estate mortgage loans, having the most extensive facilities for borrowing money for clients, with real property in this vicinity as security and at low rates of interest. The volume of business transacted in this department in the Frost office is of enormous proportions, for the facilities are such as to make him able to secure the money desired at the shortest notice and without unnecessary red tape. Mr. Frost has, at the present time, a list of more than 500 desirable parcels of property for sale, rent oor exchange, consisting of dwelling houses, apartments, stores, business buildings and factories. Some of these are most desirable, both as to location and price and should be sought at once by any person desiring to acquire property of any descr9iption in Roxbury and its neighborhood. Many of these are actually bargains, pure and simple, and the opportunity to take advantage of them ast some time in the distant future is not likely to arise. Mr. Frost makes a specialty of the care and management of large and complicated estates and has achieved many notable successes in this important and responsible work of acting for others, when great and vital interest are involved, as is the case in such transactions, in which the welfare of many is deeply concerned. Mr. Frost acts as agent for the Boston Fire Insurance Company and is able to place policies quickly and recover losses promptly and in liberal amounts.
Mr. Frost was born in Boston and was educated in the schools of the city. He studied for the legal profession and was admitted to the Suffolk County Bar in 1906. This makes his facilities for managing estates invaluable to his clients, as today a legal knowledge is necessary in the judicious handling of property. He is a member of the Massachusetts Real Estate Exchange and is well known in that body. As a businessman, Mr. Frost is highly respected, and, among his associates in the commercial world, is greatly esteemed for his qualifications as an exemplary private citizen.
