King Square Stable

Famous establishment for boarding horses at 348 Adams Street, Dorchester

The favorite stable for the boarding 0f valuable horses with the horsemen of Dorchester is the King Square establishment of 0. A. Taylor, at No. 348 Adams street. Mr. Taylor began business in Gibson Street, in 1905 and removed to his present location in June 1906. His premises consist of a one-story, frame building, 60 by 80 feet in dimensions, and are admirably adapted in every way to the uses to which they are put. There are 26 stalls in the stable, and the whole building and its surroundings are kept scrupulously neat and clean and in a perfectly sanitary condition.  The structure is well ventilated, and the horses which make their home there breathe pure, fresh air at all times, untainted by the foul odors frequently found in similar establishments, less carefully appointed and protected.  Mr. Taylor does not transact a livery business, devoting his entire time to boarding the horses of others who have not  the facilities or desire to care for their animals themselves. All of the horses left with him to care for receive the hest of treatment and are well fed and groomed, and. without exception, are notable examples of well nourished horseflesh. Their owners repose the utmost confidence in Mr. Taylor and consider it a privilege to be able to keep their tine stock under so hospitable a roof as his .

Mr. Taylor was born in New Brunswick, Canada, and has made his home in Dorchester for the last 17 years. He is a member of the Improved Order of Red Men and is a popular and respected figure in the community.
