L T. Murphy
Dealer in choice groceries and provisions, 1108 Dorchester Avenue
Noted for the quality of its goods and their great variety is the store of L. (Levi) T. Murphy, dealer in groceries and provisions, at No. 1108 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester. Mr. Murphy established his business nine years ago and has occupied his present location for the last three years. His premises are 28 by 50 feet in dimensions, thus giving ample space for the attractive and effective display of the goods he has to sell. His stock consists of staple and fancy groceries, teas, coffees, spices, canned goods, table delicacies, cereals, jar goods, flour, sugar, rice, molasses, crackers, provisions of all kinds, fruits, vegetables, etc. He makes a specialty of Swift’s prime beef and Bay Side Creamery butter, each of those commodities having a wide popularity among his customers. The store gives employment to five persons, and a delivery system, notable or its promptness an accuracy, is maintained at all times, the service rendered by this department of the business being frequently commended by the people hereabouts. As has been said, this establishment is noted for the uniform high excellence of the goods found there. Northing of an inferior character is ever permitted to enter the stock and the quality of every article is guaranteed. But the prices are moderate and reasonable, and not complaint is ever heard on that score on the part of those who trade there.
Mr. Murphy was born in the state of Maine and has lived in Dorchester for a number of years, where he is very popular.
