N T. Kerr
Dealer in groceries and provision at 87 Stoughton Street
Beginning his business career with a meat wagon in 1888, N. (Neil) T. Kerr opened his model grocery and provision store at No. 87 Stoughton Street, Dorchester, eight years later, in 1896, and his business has increased every year since that time, so that at the present time, the Kerr establishment is looked upon as one of the most important food supply houses in that part of the district. The store is large and well-arranged, and contains a generous stock of well-selected goods, consisting of staple and fancy groceries, teas, coffees, spices, butter, cheese, eggs, canned goods, flour, table delicacies, cereals, sugar, crackers, provisions of all kinds, fruits and vegtables, etc. The store enjoys a large patronage, numbering among its regular customers the best families in the locality. People like to trade at Kerr’s, for both goods and prices are right, and neither can be improved upon. The establishment gives employment to four persons. In addition to the stock of goods already mentioned, it should be said that the store also carries a full line of the best fresh meats.
Mr. Kerr was born in Scotland and has been a resident of Boston for the last nineteen years. He is a member of the Boston Caledonian Club and of the Gentlemen’s Driving Club of Dorchester.
