Well—Known Bakery Proprietor, 190 Washington Street, Mt. Bowdoin.
One of the notable establishments in the baking industry in this district is: that of P. Zittel. at No. 190 Washington Street, Mt. Bowdoin. Dorchester. Mr. Zittel conducted a baking business in Cambridge for over a quarter of a century and came to Dorchester in 1906. His store is neat and tidy and contains a large stock of bakery products from the ovens in the shop in the rear. he bakery is supplied with a modern and thoroughly up-to-date equipment, and all the work done here is performed in the most masterly way. The concern bakes bread, rolls, pies, cookie, doughnuts. etc., in great variety and of the highest excellence. Only the purest ingredients are put into the things baked in the Zittel shop and so the finished product, after it hag gone through the baking process, is simply absolute perfection. All of the articles baked on the promises are sold over the counter in the store, no effort being made on the part of the proprietor to supply the outside trade.
Mr. Zittel was born in Germany, but has been a resident of the United States for a great many years. He learned his trade in the fatherland and is an expert in the baking business, keeping strictly up to the times in all details. The people in the neighborhood of his shop think there is nothing to equal it anywhere, and his patronage is large and steady in consequence. He is highly regarded wherever he is known.
