Participating in ribbon-cutting ceremonies for the new Purity Supreme Market at Field’s Corner in 1965, from the left to right, are Mrs. James Cifrino; Mrs. John Cifrino; Edward W. O’Hearn, president of the Massachusetts Co-Operative Bank,; and Mrs. Paul Cifrino. The Cifrino family established the first supermarrket in Upham’s Corner and later founded the Purity Supreme Supermarkets. This supermarket was in a mall built on the site of the Park Street Trolley Carhouses between Geneva and Dorchester Avenues.
