T G. Nelson & Co.
Artistic painters and decorators, 357 Washington Street, Dorchester.
The firm of T. G. Nelson & Co., house painters and decorators and sign painters at No. 357 Washington Street, Dorchester, was established in 1900. The business is owned and controlled by Mr. Nelson, the “Co.” in the firm name being purely nominal. The premises of the concern are well arranged and commodious, consisting of a store, with a shop in the rear portion. In the store is kept a large and varied stork of wall coverings, paints, oils, varnishes, etc. The firm does every description of house and sign painting, interior decorating, paper hanging and hardwood finishing and has received much praise for the high class work it has done. A skilled force of ten or more men is constantly employed, working under the immediate supervision of Mr. Nelson. Much of the most important and notable work of its kind done in this region in recent years was performed by the Nelson concern, and it is frequently called upon to undertake contracts outside of the limits of the Dorchester district, so widespread is its name for excellence in its department of industry.
Mr. Nelson was born in the kingdom of Sweden and was educated in his native land. He has been connected with the painting trade for the last twenty-five years and has lived in Boston for fifteen years. He is a member of the Foresters of America and other organizations. He is a man well thought of in the community and highly popular among those who know him best. He is regarded as a man of the strictest integrity and honest in all of his relations with his fellow men.
