T. Woodrow Wilson (1856-1924), the 28th President of the United States, was a graduate of Princeton University and remained associated with Princeton as a Professor of Government and Later as President of the University. He attracted national attention for his reforms as Governor of New Jersey in 1910 and was elected President of the United States in 1912. His program of reforms on a national level had to be postponed because the problems of World War I required all his attention. He worked to secure a just and lasting world peace on the basis of his famous Fourteen Points. After the Treaty of Versailles was completed in 1919, President Wilson tried to have the United States join the League of Nations.
