Sweeney, the well-known real estate broker and insurance agent of No. 209 Bowdoin Street, opposite Olney Street, Dorchester, is a recognized figure in the property interests of the district and has been prominent in real estate circles for a long time. He established his business in 1901. His offices are spacious and well appointed and contain all of the equipment of a modern real estate broker’s official headquarters and everything there is fully up to date in all respects. Mr. Sweeney conducts his business upon the general lines of his profession, buying, selling, renting and exchanging property of all kinds for his clients, collecting rents and managing trust estates. In all of these directions he has been singularly successful and has built up a volume of business which is second to none of its class in this district. Sweeney makes a specialty of Dorchester property and has, at the present moment. on his books several hundred desirable parcels of real estate for sale or rental which can be secured on the most favorable terms, if taken at once. This list contains dwelling houses, apartments, stores, business buildings. lots, and tracts of land in Dorchester and its immediate vicinity, many of which may be had at a bargain, just now, this being especially the case with a number of the private residences, splendidly located and a goodly selection of up0-to-date flats, at reasonable rent. The insurance department of the Sweeney business constitutes no small part of it, for the office represents some of the most substantial and responsible fire insurance companies in the world , and Mr. Sweeney is able to provide policies quickly and is in a position to adjust losses pr9omptly and liberally. Mr. Sweeney also takes orders for coal, representing D. J. Cutter & Co. at the lowest prices and guarantee prompt deliveries o all orders.
Mr. Sweeney was born in Boston and was educated in the city’s schools. He has large interests in Boston proper and maintains branch offices at No. 101 Tremont Street, at which his city business is managed, and another at 350 Warren Street, Roxbury. He is accounted one of the leaders in his profession and is considered a man of the strictest integrity and honor and is respected and esteemed by all who know him.
