Howard Avenue School

The 1910 Atlas shows the Howard Avenue School faces Howard Avenue at the corner of Howard Avenue and Harlowe Street.  The school’s annex, the  Nathaniel Hawthorne School, sits behind the Howard Avenue School.  Both building appear in the 1933 atlas.

The Howard Avenue School, designed by architect George Clough, was constructed  in 1882.

The two school buildings were described as abandoned in a mention in The Boston Globe, September 4, 1937.
