Alvin M. Levy United States Army 23 December, 1923 – 14 March, 1945 Alvin M. Levy was born in Chicago on December 23, 1923. After moving to Roxbury and graduating from the Northeastern University College of Engineering, Levy was inducted into the United States Army. His active duty began on June 10, 1943, serving as a Private (Pvt.) with the 47th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division. On March 14, 1945, Levy was killed in action in Germany. Pvt. Levy was awarded the Purple Heart. Alvin is buried in the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial in Liege, Belgium and was survived by his father Joseph Levy a resident of Roxbury.

Levy lived at 131 Devon Street, Roxbury.
