Arthur Murphy lived at 24 Saranac Street.  Murphy was a retired Navy Chief warrant officer.  He was born in Boston and attended the Woodrow Wilson School, Boston Trade School and the Dorchester High School for Boys.  He received two years of college credits from the US Armed Forces Institute.  Of his 24 years in service, he was in the submarine service for 18 ½ years.  He died on July 31, 1976.
