Arthur Davison ­followed in his father’s footsteps, working as a physician in the local community.  Arthur’s parents lived at 392 Washington Street.  Arthur attended Dorchester High School, and he graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1901.  Later in life, he moved to Milton.

 

His parents, Archibald T. Davison and Lucy Kelley had married Lucy Kelley on December 31, 1872.  Lucy had immigrated from England.  The 1900 U.S. Census lists the members of their family as Archibald, 54; Lucy, his wife, 50; Arthur, 26, physician; Julia, 24, school teacher; Lucy C., 21; Archibald, Jr., 16; and servants: Etta Campbell, 22; Cathernine Weeden; and John P. Murphy.

 

Arthur was appointed to the post of physician of Boston’s Street Department by Mayor Hibbard in 1908.
