Charles F. M. Malley was born in Milton. His family moved to Dorchester when he still young.  He graduated from Boston Latin School in 1890 and graduated from Harvard in 1894.  He then finished the Harvard Law School three-year course in two years.  He became a prominent Boston attorney.  He died of influenza on November 17, 1918, in the 28th General Hospital at Etaples, France. He was 36 years old.  He was a member of the Black Watch Regiment of the Canadian Army.  He volunteered for the Canadian Army in August 1917.  In October, he sailed for England, where he received part of his military training before going to France.
