Corporal Gavin McIver lived at 15 Ridge Road, Hyde Park. He was born in Dorchester on September 8, 1883. and had resided in Hyde Park 15 years and was a carpenter. He enlisted in 1912 n the former 5th Massachusetts Regiment and had been on duty on the Mexican border. He was an expert marksman. During World War I he was attached to Co. A, 101st Infantry-K, 26th Division. He was killed on July 23, 1918.
