Born in Dorchester, Richard D. Armstrong, Jr., was elected President of USO of New England (USO/NE) in June of 1998. It is a volunteer position from which he does not receive any compensation. Mr. Armstrong is a graduate of Boston College and Boston College Law School where he received his Law degree in 1972. He went on to Georgetown Law Center to obtain his LL.M. in 1973. A Principal in the law firm of Richard D. Armstong, Jr., P.C., Richard specializes in labor and employment law. Prior to private practice, he served as counsel to a member of the National Labor Relations Board in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Armstrong’s military affiliations consisted of 6 years with the U.S. Army Reserve. He served as a Corpsman in the 187th Support Battalion and after receiving his law degree went on to serve as a Judge Advocate General Specialist in Washington D.C.

Richard is the former chairman of the Board of South Shore Mental Health Center, a member of the Board of Catholic Charities in Boston, a member of the Advisory Board for the Laboure Center Area Hospitaller for the American Association of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and a Knight of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. He has served on the Distribution Committees for The Bacon Trust, The Alfred E. Chase Charity Foundation and The Horace A. Moses Charity Foundation.

Mr. Armstrong resides in Milton, Massachusetts.
