No. 12852 3 Mill Street
In 1844 she Susan Charter became the first woman to operate a commercial photographic studio in Boston, and quite like the first to do so in Massachusetts. Her daguerrian gallery became the seventh operating in the city during that year.
She married Francis Josiah Humphrey, and they moved to a house designed by Luther Briggs at the corner of Mill and Everett Streets at 3 Mill Street.
