William Clapp House Meeting Room

The meeting room is where our tours begin.  We talk about the house and the Clapp family during their four centuries in Dorchester.  There are display panels and photographs about the Clapp family.  In addition, since the house serves as the headquarters of the Dorchester Historical Society, there are other objects from Dorchester’s history displayed.   In-person tours of the house include verbal descriptions of Dorchester events spoken by the tour guide.  The text of those comments has been incorporated into the pages below.
