William Edward Clancy United States Army 17 December 1948 – 16 September 1969 William Edward Clancy was born on December 17, 1948 in Boston. As a resident of Dorchester MA, William enlisted into the United States Army on October 14, 1968 and began active duty that same day. William served as Specialist Four with the Americal Division, 26th Engineer Battalion, and Company A. He was KIA in San Francisco, California on September 16, 1969 as a result of bacterial endocarditis, staph septicemia, and meningitis. For the heroism displayed in his service to our country, William was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. William was survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. John A. Clancy a resident of Dorchester.

Note: The information above seems to belong to the William E. Clancy for whom a square was designated at Spaulding Street and Daly Street.  Perhaps the square was really at Dorchester Avenue and Edwin Street since there is no marker at Spaulding Street and Daly Street.
