William E. Russell (1857-1896) was an American Lawyer and political leader. Russell was born at Cambridge, Mass. and was educated in the Cambridge Public Schools, Harvard University and Boston University Law School. Russell served as Mayor of Cambridge and Governor of Massachusetts (1890-1892). He died while on a fishing trip in Canada.
