Daniel Martin Kelley was born to Martin and Mary Kelley on June 22, 1947 in Boston, MA. He attended the Mather School, in Dorchester and Boston Latin High School. Coming from a family of Veterans Daniel showed his love for our country when he enlisted in the United States Army on November 9, 1966. Specialist Fourth Class (SP4) Kelley served with the 5th Vietnam. On April 25, 1968 SP4 Kelley was on a search and clear mission in the vicinity of Thua Province, South Vietnam as a rifleman. The unit was ambushed; SP4 Kelley was shot and killed. SP4 Kelley is listed with honor among the missing because no remains were recovered. SP4 Kelley was survived by his Father, Martin F. Kelley and his Stepmother, Ann Kelley of Dorchester, MA.

Kelley graduated from the Mather School and  English High School. He lived at 134 Hamilton Street. Kelley enlisted immediately following his graduation from high school in 1965.
