Ernest Richstein Square

The intersection of Norfolk Street and Crowell Street was designated a Hero Square for Ernest Richstein in 1950.

Pfc Ernest Richtstein lived at 10 Crowell Street and graduated from Boston Trade School in 1943.  He was killed in action April 3, 1945, when his company in the 775th Tank Battalion was engaged in liberating the survivors of the Luzon Death March.  His brother Albert was liberated.  Another brother, Norman, was fighting in the same area.
