No. 7149 Fire Engine House no. 3 in a photo from the late 19th century.

The wooden building was located in the back yard of the brick fire station building that was built later. You can just see a corner of the brick station to the left. The brick station still stands, but the subject of the photo was apparently lost in 1898.

Before Dorchester joined Boston, the town had its own numbering system for fire stations. This image is of Fire Engine House no. 3, located on Harvard Street not far from Washington Street. It was located in the back yard of the brick fire station building that was built later. You can just see a corner of the brick station to the left. The brick station still stands, but the subject of the photo was apparently lost in 1898.

The engine had the name Torrent Engine in the early years.
