United States Army 29 September 1932 to 25 July 1953 John Thomas Marr referred to as “Jack” or “Jackie” was born to Mary and Daniel Marr on September 29, 1932 in Dorchester, MA. He attended Boston Technical High School. John showed is love for our country when he joined the United States Army on November 2, 1952 in Boston, MA. Private First Class (PFC) Marr was assigned to the 179th Infantry Regiment 45th Infantry Division, were he proudly served until he was killed in action in Korea on July 25, 1953. His body was returned to the United States aboard the USS Mankto Victory on September 18, 1953. PFC Marr was awarded the Purple Heart for the heroism and devotion he showed for our country. John was survived by his parents Daniel and Mary Marr.

Marr lived at 15 Morrill Street.
