Peter Robert Adams United States Marine Corps 16 August 1949 – 31 May 1969 Peter Robert Adams was born to Robert and Florence Adams on August 16, 1949 in Boston. A resident of Dorchester, Peter showed his love for our country when he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on August 21, 1968. Lance Corporal (L/Cpl.) Adams proudly served with the 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment until May 20, 1969, during Operation Pipestone Canyon, he set off a booby trap while setting up his M-60 and sustained multiple missile wounds. He died on May 31, 1969 aboard Naval hospital ship USS Repose. L/Cpl. Adams was awarded the Purple Heart for the heroism he demonstrated in his service to our country. Peter was survived by his parents.

Adams lived at 104 Norfolk Street.  He graduated from Dorchester High School in 1968.  He was a varsity baseball player, captain of the team, and was an active member of the Dorchester YMCA.    Adams started service with the Marine Corps in August.
